Job Description

The Opportunity

We are looking to appoint a Finance Manager for our $500 million Infrastructure Services business in Queensland. The successful candidate will form an integral part of the Infrastructure Service Northern Region leadership team. The role will oversee road/airport maintenance, asphalt production, asphalt laying, spray seal, bitumen blending, quarrying and minor civil business across Queensland.

Reporting to the Finance & Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for duties including:

  • Overall financial control and oversight of the business including: preparing budgets, establishing effective financial controls, implementing and maintaining appropriate management accounting and reporting systems, budgetary controls and expenditure procedures.
  • Accountable for leading the month end P&L process through core financial systems.
  • Providing financial leadership and training to the operational management team.
  • Adding value to business performance through financial analysis and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Management of the state-wide administrative team - which will include occasional travel.
  • Proactively participating in strategy development and business planning
  • Working closely with commercial and legal teams to manage risk and drive the contract management process and disciplines within the business.
  • Maintaining a detailed understanding of the short and medium-term market changes, trends, opportunities, risks and competitive activity within the allocated region.
  • Working collaboratively with Fulton Hogan's vertically integrated business model
  • Adherence to Group Timetables ensuring timeliness, accuracy and integrity of monthly financial reports
  • Interpretation and implementation of Acts and Regulations and adhering to legal obligations.
  • Planning for the future in quantitative & financial terms.
  • Responsibility for monitoring capital expenditure and the integrity of the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Implementing effective Input Controls (including early identification and rectification of lapses in general input and in processes feeding into the reporting of financial information).
  • Overview of cashflow forecasting monthly.
  • Assisting with project - specific budgeting, forecasting and cost to complete models.
  • Review of Teamwork processes and workflows.


About You

We are looking for a suitably experienced finance professional who is technically capable strategically minded and commercially focused. Relevant experience in accounting/finance roles within the construction and materials industry will be well regarded.

You will be CA or CPA qualified, motivated and looking to take the next step in your finance career.

The role will be based in Brisbane Southern Suburbs/Gold Coast.
