Our client, an innovative Technology provider is looking to strengthen its team with a newly created Finance & Operations Manager role. With the support of a talented CEO who has an accounting background, you will enjoy a broad role as the first hire in Australia for their finance function.
As the successful candidate, you will be at the forefront of a key period of exciting growth for the business and have a lead role in the continued success of the organisation.

The Role
As the Finance & Operations Manager within this newly established, high growth organisation, you will have exposure to and responsibility for a variety of duties. Reporting directly in to the CEO and Board, you will play a pivotal role in the business and your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Financial stewardship of all accounting related tasks of the business
- Work as a key business partner to stakeholders, quickly becoming the ‘go-to’ person for all finance related queries
- Both management and financial reporting
- Cashflow forecasting
- Preparation of the budgets and forecasts and variance analysis
- KPI analysis and reporting
- Ongoing project work incorporating both accounting and operational improvements to facilitate company growth
Your Background
We are looking to speak to individuals with the proven ability to communicate to senior business stakeholders, influence decision making processes and present key findings in a professional, concise manner.
As the successful Finance & Operations Manager, you will meet the majority of the following criteria:
- CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) and have a passion to immerse yourself in an exciting start-up environment
- You may have worked in either a commercial enterprise, or have gained experience within Business Services or audit in a role juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders
- You will have a high level of proficiency in the use of Excel
- You will ideally have operational involvement around systems implementations and process improvement initiatives
- Have a flexible approach and be a real team player in order to thrive in this dynamic and fast evolving organisation
- You must be able to work autonomously in a hands on role as one of the first team members coming onboard
Those who have worked in a high-growth Startup environment (or had high growth clients) previously will be viewed favourably, however this is by no means a pre-requisite.
