Newly created Financial Controller position with regional team management

They have grown significantly in the past decade and with new business plans they have decided to recruit a new Financial Controller to join their South Auckland operation on a full-time and permanent basis.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the NZ based CFO, you will hold responsibility for the group's statutory reporting commitments including half and year end alongside managing all financial services functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control and Payroll. The Financial Controller will be the go-to person for developing, maintaining and controller of all finance related documentation, policies and procedures. Furthermore, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of the group and operational processes to ensure consistency, compliance with corporate policy and be expected to identify any areas of financial risk or suggest opportunities for continuous improvements.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have an early background in any Audit or Business Advisory Services related discipline and proven 10+ years' experience in the commercial industry with the application of NZ GAAP, NZ IFRS and at least 5+ years' completing financial statements under the NZ accounting standards network. As this role is focused on leadership and people management, you must have looked after a sizeable team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll alongside the ability get involved with various ad-hoc projects such as ERP implementations and establish a fully functional finance team that is focused on continuous improvement.
