Citi Global Functions Technology is seeking an experienced, hands on engineering leader to lead simplification through decommissioning of legacy components of the existing platform and implement a target state Accounting technology platform. With this in mind, The FX Accounting Technology lead role will be responsible to review the incumbent legacy stack and deliver capability needed to drive a multi-year transformation from legacy to the Accounting platform of the future for FX products. The position requires a senior candidate with exceptional technical, leadership and communication abilities combined with knowledge and/or experience of Banking Products and associated Business Processes.

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

The role is an important technology-oriented hire of experienced IT Senior Manager focusing on Finance Banking Solutions and Implementation in the area of Finance Product Control & Accounting Technology group. The leader will play a key role in the implementation of Process and Data driven Initiatives in Finance Technology, with strong focus on ensuring a smooth and well established change and release process, implemented across entirety of Finance products primarily in FX Product Processors and Accounting.

Responsibilities:
  • Strong overall business understanding of Derivatives products - particularly FX - with in depth understanding around one of areas e.g. Trade Processing/settlement, Operations, Accounting or Ledger reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills & vast experience having managed Business / Functional requirements.
  • Experience working on a large-scale Finance transformation program with regulatory commitments.
  • Analyze, design & E2E implementation of new systems, either home-grown or a vendor product implementation
  • Product Delivery & Management: Manage projects against aggressive client/regulatory commitments and deadlines. Ensure ordered and well documented product/feature backlogs; Remove blockers to development progress and manages the stakeholder expectations
  • Exposure to the Cloud paradigm preferably AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills & ability to interact with senior external, internal stakeholders
  • Ensures managed areas are defining and implementing systems that are aligned with business strategy and goals.
  • Resolves a variety of broad based and complex issues. Applies a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas as well as underlying business principles.
  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
  • Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
  • Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive relevant experience in the Banking Financial Service Industry.
  • Experience as senior Technology Lead in an Applications Development role
  • Experience in architecting technical solutions
  • Expertise in evaluation of industry standard products, software tools and provide recommendations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with global teams
  • Strong knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Practitioner of Agile practices

Skills & Technologies:
  • Delivery Focused - Ability to manage both large and small projects end to end.
  • Very strong ability to interpret and analyze Financial Accounting.

Education:
