Job Description

Finance Assistant Location:

Leeds City Centre, West Yorkshire

Contract:

Permanent, Full-Time Salary:

£20,000-30,000 Working hours:

Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Role Description Protect Group is a business founded by an ambitious entrepreneur James and a highly experienced and successful entrepreneur and investor David. After rapid growth over the past 12 months, resulting in new offices across 4 regions of the world, Protect Group are now growing the finance team at our Leeds HQ.

In terms of what we do, we provide Membership Programmes that operate a variety of benefits centred around the distribution of Event Protection and Refund Protection. In the Event, Transport, Travel, Accommodation and Sports sectors worldwide.

We are looking for a motivated individual who will be reporting to the Financial Controller, with a scope to learn and progress within the organisation. Some study support may be available and can be discussed for those that are part qualified.

Main role responsibilities: -

Assisting with and eventually managing payroll for the group (including overlooking payroll for foreign entities) and some HR matters, -

Accounts Receivable - invoicing, setting up new client records, credit control, chasing debts, responding to invoice queries, reporting discrepancies and problems, allocating payments -

Accounts Payable - dealing with supplier invoices and payments, -

Dealing with financial transactions in Xero across multiple bank accounts and currencies and across multiple entities, -

Assisting with reconciliation of some balance sheet items, -

Assisting with month end routine, -

Running reconciliations for large volumes of transactions, -

Assisting with some travel/office bookings and purchases, -

Participating in ad hoc projects and reporting within finance department (as well as outside the department from time to time), -

Taking ownership of some office administrative tasks.

Candidate skills and requirements: -

You will be AAT and/or part ACCA/CIMA qualified (or similar) , -

You will have experience working within accounts, payroll and finance role (min. 3 years), -

You will have excellent attention to detail and excellent communication skills, -

You will have strong IT skills, with working Excel knowledge, experience with Xero will be an advantage, -

You will be organised, confident and have a high degree of personal integrity, -

You will be self-motivated with a "can do" attitude and good time management skills, comfortable dealing with incomplete information and meeting tight deadlines, -

You will be experienced with working in a team as well as using your own initiative. -

You will be confident, outgoing and happy to interact with individuals, businesses and authorities, inside and outside the organisation
