We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Assets Finance Manager to join our team. This is a newly created role for a strong operational and technical team member to deliver on our needs in-line with relevant accounting standards and applicable tax/other requirements. This role has flexible work arrangements available to work at our Sydney Olympic Park office, York Street office, and from home. This position reports to the Accounting Services Leader.

We are looking for this role to lead the team in delivering best practice ways of working across our fixed and lease assets. This role will also partner the Accounting Services Leader in taking the team to the next level to make a difference to the Lion business.

Your key accountabilities in the role will be to assist with the day to day operational finance and administration requirements while embedding best practice accounting services function (in process, system usage and team capability), adding value through driving governance and process excellence and well-rounded focus on business partnering.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Broader leadership and partnering across the business to effectively manage both the Fixed Asset and Lease categories
  • Delivery of core reporting and governance responsibilities through to key stakeholders (Finance, Tax) per agreed timetables
  • Responsible for maintaining the governance around our Fixed and Lease accounting processes (CWIP management, Additions, Disposals, Impairments, Useful life reviews, stocktakes, managing project master data in SAP etc)
  • Drive continuous improvement across both Fixed and Lease business processes
  • Risk and governance experience with a strong understanding of key accounting standards
  • Change leadership - ability to partner & engage stakeholders at various levels & communicate effectively as well as bring the team on the journey


The successful applicant will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Qualified CPA or CA preferably from a big 4 or mid-tier firm
  • Proven working knowledge of IFRS16 is essential, with SAP RE-FX module highly preferred
  • Hands on experience in property accounting and project environment.
  • Experience with finance systems (SAP experience is a must have, Power BI, Alteryx, automaton experience preferred)
  • Excellent communications and the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders
