Position Summary

The APAC Accounts Payable ("A/P") and Time & Expense ("T&E") Leader leads a large,
diverse, and international team focused on processing Accounts Payable and Time & Expense
transactions for Bain's APAC organization.

The role is organizational, operational, and innovative:
  • Organizational: coordinating A/P and T&E activities across all APAC offices
  • Operational: leading the A/P and T&E operations in New Delhi to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization
  • Innovative: support technology and process improvements such as RPA, AI, etc


Essential Functions

APAC Operations
  • Coordinates A/P and T&E activities across all countries within the APAC region.
  • Works with A/P and T&E teams to ensure invoices and expenses are processed in accordance with global policies and standards.
  • Supports day-to-day program administration for Corporate Card rollout together with key stakeholders (e.g., AmEx, Global Procurement).
  • Continuously works to maintain and improve service levels across APAC region.
  • Provides guidance on exceptional cases and ensures escalations are handled effectively.
  • Handling internal & External Audits: Support Ops Compliance/Surveillance teams to ensure zero audit observations and findings.
  • Manages key stakeholders and acts as key contact person to APAC partners, APAC Finance Business Partners, Office Services, etc. for A/P and T&E related issues.
  • Supports Global A/P and T&E Leader in development of global standardized A/P and T&E process (e.g. SAP implementation).
  • Drives local implementation of other projects in coordination with project teams and system interdependencies (e.g., SAP implementation team, Data & Analytics reporting team, etc.)
  • Helps apply the lean six sigma framework to drive continuous performance improvement and drive transformation agenda.
  • Establishes and reviews internal and external KPIs and drives towards defined benchmarks and targets - publish according to an agreed schedule.
  • Determines resourcing requirements for APAC A/P and T&E teams.
  • Provides guidance to HR team on recruiting and induction of new hires.

Operational Excellence
  • Drives operational excellence in APAC, working closely with regional Finance and center of excellence teams to identify and implement process improvement and optimization initiatives to achieve best in cost operations.
  • Drives further process standardization across APAC.
  • Implements use cases for process automation across end-to-end process.

Leadership/management responsibilities/local impact

• Manages and supervises the APAC A/P and T&E staff in New Delhi
• Provides leadership and coaching to junior team members

Professional development, recruiting & talent planning

• Determines resourcing requirements for three-year and annual plans
• Identifying the training needs of the team and working with Global A/P and T&E Leader and HR to formulate a plan meet the training needs
• Provides guidance to HR team on recruiting and induction of new hires
• In conjunction with Local HR, reinforces communication on Professional Development

Qualifications
  • Required a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management
  • MBA or Master's Degree (Preferred)

Experience
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the Finance process with a focus on the Procure to Pay / T&E domain and an excellent understanding of shared services setup and delivery and process transformation
  • Min. 3 years' experience in leadership roles
  • Industry experience in Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense processes in a shared service environment

  • Experience in a professional services environment
    Managerial experience including review, professional development, business planning, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Experience in managing teams in a regional APAC setting
  • Proven ability to successfully manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize within a fast-paced,demanding environment
