Purpose of Position

  • To properly account for all Crawford & Company Australia revenue & expenditure using MS Dynamics NAV.
  • To accurately report monthly results to local and US management.
  • To ensure compliance with all SOX Controls, Statutory and ATO requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll officers, finance administrator and assistant accountant.
  • Correct recording of accounting transactions in the General Ledger and all subsidiary ledgers (Accounts Receivable & Payable, Fixed Asset Register, etc.).
  • Preparation of monthly and annual results in line with Crawford Australia and Crawford International requirements within advised deadlines. Monthly reports currently need to be reviewed and submitted to Atlanta by 4 th working day.
  • Preparation of monthly reports, commentary and analysis of accounting information for global finance & senior management
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations including investigation and clearing of reconciling items.
  • Maintain SOX controls and co-ordinate half year and yearly audits with internal and external auditors.
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts and income tax returns within statutory deadlines, including liaison with external auditors and tax agents as required.
  • Review and lodgement of monthly BAS and IAS
  • Preparation and lodgement of annual FBT returns
  • Project accounting for Crawford Global IT projects along with CAPEX forecasting
  • Financial accounting system administrator (MS Dynamics - Navision
  • Liaison with State Managers and Administration Managers as required
  • Liaise with Regional Finance & Crawford overseas operations as required.
  • Ad-hoc assistance to CFO as required

Experience/Knowledge Required

  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles & tax legislation.
