Job Description & Summary

Job Description & Summary

The Assurance Centre of Excellence (CoE) is part of the emerging vision of how we deliver quality Assurance services in Australia, making positive changes to the way we work. The CoE drives a high quality audit experience by utilising highly skilled team members with deep specialisms in more complex areas. They have access to the most up to date technical information, as well as xLoS and industry specialists to provide valuable insights to our engagement teams and clients.

If you are passionate about being at the forefront of change, have a technical mind and want to be seen as a leader in our business, then read on. As a CoE Senior Accountant you will become experts and "go-to" people, that engagement teams can engage to audit the more complex and judgmental areas of our Assurance engagements. The CoE offers a range of secondment, Assurance Quality Cycles of Experience or FTC opportunities available in the areas of:
  • Share Based Payments (SBP) and Remuneration reports;
  • Audit of Tax (AoT); and/or
  • Audit of Leases.

The list of areas delivered by the CoE is expected to grow rapidly, in line with strategy, over the next 3 years. This will provide a unique opportunity to build a depth, as well as breadth, of experience in more complex areas of Assurance.

What will you create?

As a Senior Accountant in our Assurance Centre of Excellence team, your impact will be seen by:
  • Providing audit and business advice to a variety of clients
  • Coordination for audit clients including planning, day to day liaison with the engagement team, liaising with clients and completing audit assignments
  • Developing deep, respected specialist skills in more complex areas of Assurance
  • Helping drive the PwC Assurance strategy, by shaping a critical element of our delivery model
  • Have flexibility in when and how you work, utilising technology and best practice virtual working to coach and interact with teams of clients remotely
  • Play a critical role in ensuring the quality of delivery of these more complex areas, in line with technical (both accounting and auditing) requirements and operating procedures
  • Develop digital solutions to streamline the delivery of CoE services

Background and experience
  • Experience in applying professional auditing skills in the audit of taxes, share based payments and/or leases is highly desirable, but a demonstrable experience of learning new and complex technical areas is more important
  • A drive and aptitude to build deep accounting and auditing specialist knowledge in more complex areas
  • Qualified accountant status (CA or CPA), along with a technical mind and keen learning capacity

About you

You have a proven background in Audit or Accounting (tax experience, share based payment and/or leases experience is a plus but not essential) and the drive and aptitude to build deep accounting and auditing specialisms in more complex areas. You have demonstrable experience of working on multiple engagements at the same time and prioritising appropriately.

As part of an Assurance CoE you will make a difference by:
  • Developing deep, respected specialisms in more complex areas, enabling you to perform roles earlier in your career than is typically possible
  • Working with (and becoming!) brilliant, high performing experts in their field
  • Making a difference by driving innovation and thought leadership for our Assurance practice
  • Working across a diverse client base
  • Interacting directly with clients, but doing so virtually - enabling you to work more flexibly than is typically possible.
  • Helping drive PwC Assurance strategy, by shaping a critical element of our delivery model.
