I am currently supporting an group of Academies who are in need of an immediately available Finance Manager to start as early as Next week .
Monitor income and expenditure in relation to the Trust and schools' budgets, producing regular reports for the Board, Business Manager, CEO and Principals.
Although this is a temporary position, there is a chance you will be invited to apply for the permanent position in the coming months

I am currently supporting an group of Academies who are in need of an immediately available Finance Manager to start as early as Next week .
Monitor income and expenditure in relation to the Trust and schools' budgets, producing regular reports for the Board, Business Manager, CEO and Principals.
- Follow up with relevant bodies to ensure timely receipt and accuracy of funding for the Trust's schools such as SEND funding, Capital Claims and other funding streams.
- Coding of income and expenditure, ensuring an efficient, accurate and up-to-date set of accounts is maintained.
- Manage the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions in conjunction with the Finance Officer.
- Prepare month end reports including variation reports, management accounts and share with the Business Manager.
- Provide budget holders and Principals with monthly updates of their accounts, advising them on matters relating to their budgets.
- Support the school leadership to ensure follow up on the cashless payment system, reviewing any outstanding payments to reduce the risk of debt.
- Identify and process accruals and prepayments.
- Advise the school Principals and Senior Leadership Teams on all aspects of month-end and financial processing such as purchasing and tendering.
- Ensure the financial scheme of delegation is clearly understood by school Principals and all school staff associated with financial processes.
- Take appropriate action, including timely escalation to Trust Business Manager, for any issues of non-compliance of financial processes.
- Provide advice and training regarding on financial matters to the Finance team and school leadership teams as required.
- Working with the Business Manager to introduce and maintain robust and streamlined financial systems and procedures within the Trust and its school.
- Be responsible for the schools' purchase ledger processes to oversee the coding of invoices with the correct nominal codes, ensuring they are logged onto financial systems
- Oversee procurement for schools, ordering supplies, equipment and services, appropriate approval as per policies, and the prompt payment of invoices in liaison with relevant school staff.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices onto the financial system ready for authorisation by responsible officials.
- Work with HR, internal finance personnel, and payroll provider to oversee the monthly reconciliation of payroll for all Trust staff, including TPS and LGPS pension returns, keeping records for audit purposes.
- Support the production of the statutory accounts by the external auditors with the provision of schedules and requested information.
- Assist the Business Manager on the internal and external audit process.
- Manage the capital claims process, including liaising with ESFA, with the Finance Officer.
- Monitor and control capital expenditure on buildings and grounds, placing of contracts and/or liaising with central teams where these have been procured to on behalf of the Trust.
- Identification and recording of fixed assets ensuring that the depreciation costs are captured by liaising with relevant colleagues
