Management Accountant is needed for a Fixed Term Contract for six months, which could be extended.

Your new role
  • Provide high quality, proactive and business-aware Financial Support for complex and/or multiple service areas
  • Provide accurate and timely Management Accounting activities to support the monitoring of service area budgets
  • Work with Heads of Service and Cost Centre Manages to ensure effective management of allocated budgets
  • At all times understand the overall position of the Budget across the organisation and to ensure budget spend decisions are made within that context
  • Promote sound financial management and a clear understanding of the financial governance arrangements across the organisation
  • Working with service managers, gain an understanding of the service area being supported to be able to provide sound financial advice, innovative solutions and ensuring value for money across the organisation


What you'll need to succeed

Essential Criteria

  • CCAB qualified of Part Qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Track record of building positive relationships with service areas to ensure that communication and robust financial management is achieved
  • Experience of financial planning, and budget monitoring in a large complex organisation, including identification of efficiencies and improved performance
  • Experience of training and explaining complex financial issues to all levels of staff in finance and the service area
  • Experience of extracting data and interpreting the results in a clear and concise way to all levels of staff
  • Strong communication skills and a confident and enthusiastic work ethic
  • Ability to undertake complex financial modelling, evaluation and presentation of the findings


Desirable Criteria

  • Ability to contribute ideas and demonstrate initiative and flexibility
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, contributing effectively and positively to team goals and working relationships
  • Knowledge of the wider aspects of Financial Services, such as Insurance, risks, procurement process
