An exciting opportunity to join our busy GIS team has become available! We are recruiting an experienced Business Analyst, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This is a Full time position, on a Permanent contract. The candidate will report to the Senior Business Analysis Manager, The role is the link between the business objectives and core technological capabilities the team is building. An agile team requires constant adaptation and innovation to turn customer needs into outputs. The Business Analyst's goal is to drive organized and effective requirements to build the product.

They are responsible for utilizing creative and practical thinking to translate requirement into direct improvements. The BA is then responsible for ensuring the team knows and understands what they are expected to build through a backlog and user stories and how it connects to overall objectives.

The BA is the team's source for business logic, requirements, analysis, testing features once ready etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with a Product Owner to shape the end-to-end product strategy and determine business value
  • Elicit requirements to accomplish team goals
  • Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for their team. Maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
  • Serve as the day to day contact for the team on clarification of requirements and drive user stories
  • Exercise strong decision making mandate across the team as a proxy to the product owner
  • Stay in sync with the product owners on priorities and day to day decision making
  • Support the product owners in collaborating with other teams and leadership to ensure team strategy aligns with overall product vision
  • Define, implement and track performance metrics once solution enters production
  • Prep and support the team on product demos

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Essential
  • Deep knowledge of digital products or industry
  • Experience with B2B digital products
  • Experience using techniques like cost-benefit analysis for feature prioritization
  • Experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
  • Experience leading / working with teams in an agile setting as an analyst
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story
  • Able to articulate business requirements and bridge the gap with development teams and stakeholders
  • Strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress
  • Stays up to date with current trends, best practices and new technologies

Desirable
  • Can quickly learn industry trends / domains and end user demands from pain points
