The Commercial Team is critical to the success of Hull Trains and we are looking for great people to join that team and become a crucial part of our road to recovery post pandemic.

The role of the Business Analyst is to provide analytical information on key areas of Hull Trains including; commercial, revenue, product, digital, pricing and yield management and analytical projects. The role will assist the Rail Revenue Manager and support all members of the Commercial and Customer Experience Team in their day to day roles in providing data of HT's performance, that of its competitors as well as assisting in identifying opportunities in growing passenger revenue.

Duties are;

To provide the data needed to compile the weekly and four-weekly passenger revenue reporting pack, including a detailed analysis of results and trends. Assist in providing commentary and analysis for the Board Report.

Provision of revenue and journeys information to third parties and respond to ad-hoc information requests from other parts of the business.

Develop and maintain databases of relevant competitive and economic activity and produce a quarterly competition report.

Assist in providing supporting data that can contribute to the passenger income budget and periodic forecast including the identification of period variances.

Provide support to HT Commercial and Customer Experience Team during busy periods to ensure that HT advance fares are always open 12 weeks before departure by becoming a competent user of the S3 Passenger Reservation System and HT's SAP-based reporting system.

Become a competent user of Tableau & ORCATS.

Become a competent user of the Ventoux revenue management system and ensure Hull Trains remain competitive in the market place.

Provide analysis to support HT's product and pricing strategy, particularly during the annual fares changing rounds.

Become a competent user of HT's WebTIS platform.

Knowledge required;

Knowledge of software including all Microsoft packages

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel essential

Knowledge of SAP Business Objects and Power BI software preferred

Previous pricing experience within the transport sector is important but not essential

Degree calibre in a business / analytical discipline

An understanding of the rail and transport industries, but not essential

Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
