About the Team:

Tesco Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), a Joint venture between Tesco and Telefónica UK with over 5 million customers.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Finance (PAYG), this role is responsible for supporting all aspects of prepay trading for Tesco Mobile, and works very closely with the PAYG Trading Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and evolve the weekly PAYG Trading Report, understanding trends across all products and channels to make suitable conclusions and recommendations.
  • Run the weekly PAYG forecast model, review and appraise inputs from the PAYG Trading Team.
  • Analyse PAYG sales propositions and promotions from a financial perspective and provide recommendations, considering pricing, profitability, subsidy and stock risk.
  • Perform regular competitor review and distribute to Finance and Trading Teams.
  • Actively support PAYG commercial team with Stock intake decisions
  • Monitor other market factors such as breakage and fraud, and provide insight to stakeholders.
  • Other finance support to the Head of PAYG Finance and PAYG Product owner as necessary.
  • Ad hoc analysis for the CFO and Head of Commercial Finance where required.
  • Working with the commercial teams to assess and develop commercial models which will support the business' strategic goals.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of planning and forecasting for the business area including annual budget, quarterly forecasts and rolling updates to full year outlook.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures, contributing to continuous business improvement.
  • Work with and support the wider finance team in developing and implementing efficient and effective systems and processes encompassing robust financial controls.
  • Contribute towards a high performing team and help to drive forward a culture of personal development and progression


Skills/ Experience Required
  • CIMA finalist/newly qualified or above
  • Min 2+ years' work experience in Commercial Finance role
  • Strong academic track record. (preferably Finance/Science & Numeric Degree)
  • Experience of working in a fast moving commercial environment.
  • High level of commercial acumen.
  • Ability to build strong and trusted relationships but provide robust challenge where necessary.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Self-starter with willingness to assume responsibility and take charge
  • Good time-management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment as a key player
  • Confident and focused approach to get the job done
  • Ability to easily adapt to changing priorities and demands
