Position Title: Taxation Accountant (Full time)

The role

This role is responsible for ensuring that financial information including the tax calculation of the company and its related entities are properly generated, recorded, and reported to relevant authorities in timely manner.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Generate monthly / quarterly / annual financial reports for 7 entities including DHA, its related entities and joint ventures. (Financial reports are consists of BS, PL, Changes in Equity and Account balance details as well as other necessary reports.)
  • Prepare income tax expenses and calculates deferred tax assets/liabilities quarterly.
  • Prepare consolidation reporting to headquarters in Japan quarterly.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by headquarters in Japan and provide support for financial audits conducted by external auditors.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepare statutory corporate tax returns including ATO Business Activity Statements, FBT returns and individual tax return for employees.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Handle all the daily project related matters including, reviewing the relevant legal documentation and liaising with solicitors
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required


Qualification, skills, and experience required:
  • Have extensive accounting and taxation knowledge.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong fluency in English and Japanese languages
  • High level proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • The ability to work in a flexible manner, under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise your work
  • Excellent attention to detail


Salary: $65,000 plus Superannuation or above
