DESCRIPTION
The WW Private Brands Finance organization seeks a Commercial finance business partner to support the EU Softlines Private Brands team based in our London office. It's still Day 1 and this position provides an individual the unique and exciting opportunity to work on complex problems in a high profile role while being the commercial partner to one of the fastest growing businesses in Europe.
At Amazon, we are working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, creative and driven people. If you would like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history. Finance is all about the numbers ... unless you work at Amazon; it is about knowing the numbers and so much more. As finance leaders, we're not just a reporting function, but a core part of the business, developing strong partnerships and creating value through insightful analyses. If you view problems as treasures and enjoy diving deep to identifying root causes and developing long-term, scalable solutions, this is the job for you!
A successful candidate will be a self-starter looking to influence business decisions and set future direction through data analysis and clear articulation of what really matters. The candidate will have freedom to think big and create new processes and mechanisms to drive both top and bottom line growth in this new industry for Amazon. A passion for serving internal customers is critical with the role partnering closely with the Softlines Private Brands leadership team to provide strategic guidance, tactical direction, and decision support.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Business partnership with Pan-EU Softlines Private Brands leadership on strategic initiatives and critical organizational goals
• Financial data mining, modeling and analytics to identify strategic opportunities, support new initiatives, and measure progress on critical goals
• Ownership of financial and operational business reviews, including free cash flow, headcount and opex
• Partner with marketing team on promotional strategy, including development of financial guardrails
• Financial controllership of the business, including ensuring data integrity
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline with analytical bias
• 5+ years of experience in a large corporate finance environment with emphasis on analytics
• Strong English language written and oral communication skills with an ability to concisely summarize relevant data and convey results by effectively articulating complex messages
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including experience in developing long-term forecast models
• A self-starter that thrives in a dynamic environment
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA, Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Experience and familiarity with SQL, Cognos (TM1), or similar tools
• Retail or e-commerce experience
• Demonstrable leadership skills and experience in a business partnering role
