THE OPPORTUNITYThe Business Analyst will demonstrate significant practical experience of analysis methodologies, tools and techniques, obtained across a wide variety of projects, especially agile delivery.The Business Analyst will join an existing programme of work that involves the implementation of Service Now across a wide number of business areas, not just IT. They will help define the drivers, objectives, scope, high level & detailed requirements for one or more of the business areas.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works within a multidisciplinary agile team, maintaining and grooming the backlog, carrying out more detailed analysis when appropriate
- Takes responsibility for the detailed specification and modelling of holistic solutions using agile methods and techniques as required
- Takes responsibility for work to investigate business problems and opportunities, and specify required changes to business processes, people skills, information, technology and organisation structures and roles
- Works effectively with senior business and IT stakeholders, conducting investigations at a strategic level and assuring the feasibility of proposed solutions
- Engages effectively with senior stakeholders to develop and review models, communicate modelling results and resolve any issues or disagreements
- Models, simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed systems components to enable approval by stakeholders
- Also works with colleagues and other stakeholders to shape the analysis approach and resource planning
- Ensures the vision, drivers, objectives and benefits are understood, documented, managed and traced throughout the project lifecycle
- Manages their business analysis activities across one or more related projects
- Ensures that a holistic view is taken of the business situations investigated and that business objectives and requirements are understood
- Utilises business knowledge and experience to assess and advise on the feasibility and relevance of proposed options for business and technical change
- Undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-off. Makes recommendations and assesses and manages associated risks
- Demonstrable experience of working in an agile environment, implementing Service Now
- Comfortable capturing requirements documented as epics and user stories with appropriate documentation and delivering via sprints and associated scrum meetings.
- Demonstrable experience of working with senior business stakeholders across an enterprise environment
- Has worked collaboratively with Programme and Project Managers, fellow BAs, Developers, QA, Architecture, InfoSec, Service Owners in IT and 3rd parties
- Pro-active, helping to guide and steer both the analysis and project approach
- Skilled in using Business Analysis techniques and Information Modelling tools
- Strong presentation skills, either face-to-face or online within various contexts and to a variety of audiences
- Ability to work cross-functionally, understanding the needs, objectives and constraints of those in other disciplines and functions
- Able to work collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal
- Strong commercial awareness
