What impact will you have?

As a Business Analyst within the Indirect Tax team you'll have the opportunity to identify and document improvements to frameworks, processes and assess solution options whilst developing recommendations with associated business cases. You will work with the team to propose detailed designs and delivery of solutions that ensure requirements are met and benefits are realised, whilst identifying, communicating and managing risks to solution delivery.

With prior experience as a Business Analyst ideally gained within the Finance/Tax, the Business Analyst role will be responsible for building relationships with all levels of stakeholders whilst being adaptable to a variety of engagement styles of stakeholders. Exposure to software design and implementation lifecycle, with prior experience and involvement in process and technology improvement projects would be advantageous.

The role will allow you the opportunity to leverage proven techniques to elicit and analyse business needs whilst providing key input into solutions that meet and exceed client requirements. You'll also be able to produce strawman proposals which will lead requirements discussions and give you the ability to challenge users' requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • supporting the Tax Reporting Data and Transformation team across multiple change initiatives for the global tax reporting function
  • documenting and processing map data and critical controls for Indirect and Direct tax across a wide range of source systems
  • working effectively and individually with Technology and Tax Reporting team members
  • overseeing and has accountability for the successful completion of all aspects of assigned project work
  • exercising independent judgment, and take the lead role on enterprise level project with minimal direction from a director or engagement manager
  • effectively facilitate meetings, demonstrate brainstorming / consensus building skills, and interact with executive level project sponsors.
  • assessing technology solutions to streamline and automate tax processes, including requirements documentation and analysis of solutions
  • contributing to the development and maintenance of the transformation requirements backlog, participation in design workshops, testing and rollout of business and technology enhancements and solutions
  • updating of relevant process materials due to changes implemented during the transformation project.

What skills and experience will set you up for success?

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to effectively prepare and maintain the following documents / tools:
  • Business Process flow analysis
  • Business and technical requirements documentation
  • Data Lineage / analytics

You will also possess:

• similar experience in a finance or tax function (preference)

• detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies

• ability to understand and communicate complex concepts whilst demonstrating strong analytical skills

• excellent oral and written communication skills

• ability to work independently, learn quickly and think creatively

• strong interpersonal skills and ability to take a leadership role when necessary.
