Key Accountabilities:
- Planning and forecasting - support the annual business planning process and quarterly business forecasting process. Drive development and deployment of the plan/forecast model, undertake plan/forecast reconciliations, and ensure compliance with audit standards. Support delivery of financial plans and forecasts to meet UK and US deadlines.
- Performance and Value Adding Analysis - Perform required analysis to support understanding of the business performance. Deliver high quality reports, analyses and projections to UK Finance and the US planning team and respond to management feedback.
- Develop Tools - Develop efficient financial reporting and modelling tools to deliver high quality reports, analyses and projections.
- Apply Best Practice - Investigate and apply best practice in business planning, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Business engagement - Provide business partnering services to the business, ensure strong communication links across the business including US Corporate Finance.
- Wider contribution - contribute to overall goals of the Finance Division through active participation in team and departmental meetings, and support internal initiatives.
- Ensure the continued protection of Unum's information, by following all applicable Information Security policies and procedures and by reporting suspected weaknesses in information security controls to the Information Security Officer.
- Understand how Conduct Risk, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) Risk Management and Solvency II systems of Governance relate to both the role and the divisional activities and highlight any opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- Trainee ACCA/CIMA an advantage, or similar numerate training / background
- Strong use of excel, ideally some knowledge of VBA and use of Macros
- Performance management / reporting / planning & forecasting experience, or a clear demonstration of aptitude for this.
