We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Analyst to join the UK Finance team on a 9month fixed-term contract. This role will be primarily working across the physical sale of BBC Studios content (DVD) however there will also be the opportunity to assist with reporting for other lines of businesses. For the DVD business, this will involve undertaking the preparation and reporting of financial performance against forecast, resolution of queries, and deliver continuous improvements in process across finance operations.

The Finance Business Analyst will support the Finance Business Partner in embedding the recently implemented SAP Analytics Cloud ("SAC") system within the business for more transparent reporting, as well as handling other ad hoc reporting requests. Our Finance Actuals and Reporting team comprises 4 analysts and works closely with the CP&A team to ensure actuals are correctly reflected in the forecast process.

Role Responsibility

You will support the DVD business with month-end activities and reporting; providing insight into variances and working with the outsourced finance team to reconcile and provide complete and accurate reporting. You will also support with invoicing queries and provide ad-hoc support to the wider Consumer Products and Licensing finance team. Updating monthly P&L for all business lines and consolidating commentary.

You will liaise with business stakeholders to support monthly Business Case Reviews and commercial business decisions and work with the outsourced finance team to ensure that all accounts are reconciled and discrepancies investigated. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of an outsourced team member.

You will identify and report all risks and opportunities across the P&L and Balance Sheet, and perform regular comprehensive Balance Sheet reconciliations. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal control requirements. At year-end, you will proactively assist with the annual close, supporting analysis schedules, and statutory audit review.

You will be an advocate of the SAC reporting system for all lines of business and proactively identify and recommend improvements to internal controls, processes, and methodologies.

The Ideal Candidate

At BBC Studios, we seek people who are passionate about who we are and what we do.

You will be a finance professional from a commercial finance function in a complex matrix organisation, with reporting experience.

You must be a confident communicator with the ability to work effectively and forge relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will have knowledge of the theory and practical application of accounting principles and controls and experience preparing month-end reporting.

You must be self-sufficient, organised, and have experience meeting reporting deadlines.

Ideally, you will also have knowledge of BPC and S4 Hana and an interest in the media industry.

Technical accounting knowledge gained from a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA,ACCA,CIMA) or equivalent work experience would be advantageous.
