Macmahon is a leading Australian company delivering a comprehensive range of surface mining, underground mining and engineering services to the resources sector throughout Australia and South East Asia.

Macmahon are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our motivated and results driven finance team as a Senior Financial Accountant supporting operations with data analysis and reporting.

About the role:

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Manage and review a team of up to 3 Financial Accountants;
• Preparation and coordination of the half-year and year-end financial reports;
• Team Lead for managing and co-ordinating half-year and year-end audits;
• Co-ordination of Subsidiary Audits and completion of Financial Statements;
• Completion and review of technical papers;
• Run the monthly consolidation for the group;
• Completion of monthly financial accounting and journal preparation for international entities;
• Review of the International entities monthly reports;
• Review of the month end reconciliations & journal's across Australian and international entities;
• Balance sheet reconciliation review across Australian and international entities.
• Provide adhoc reporting and analysis where required to Commercial Managers and the finance team;
• Completion of technical training for the finance team;
• Systems and process improvement;

We are looking for individuals who are able to demonstrate:

• CPA or CA qualified
• Minimum 6 years' experience in reporting for medium sized public companies
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and complete to a high standard
• Good communication skills - able to interact with both finance and operational stakeholders
• Team player - works as part of a team to deliver results on time at a high standard
• Experience with financial and management reporting, including dashboards, tables, analysis and report writing.
• Ability to critically assess outputs to provide value-add to business and management.
• High attention to detail - delivers high quality outputs and deliverables
• Experience within mining and resource industry preferred
• Experience with SAP is a bonus.

Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong internal relationships are essential in order to achieve positive outcomes.

Should you be successful in being offered a role in Macmahon's Corporate Division, you will be required to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
