What you'll be doing
The Manager Internal Audit is responsible for managing the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) Internal Audit Team. The role of the Internal Audit Team is to provide a constructive and objective internal audit service to management, to assist in the discharge of responsibilities of the Chief Executive in line with the SCHN strategic and operational objectives.
The Manager Internal Audit is also responsible for developing and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the Internal Audit Work Plan including the coordination and engagement of external providers for specific projects as required.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and membership of and/or relevant qualifications from a professional body (e.g. CA ANZ, CPA Australia, IIA, ISACA) and extensive professional experience in an audit capacity related to large and complex/diverse public sector or service industry organisations. Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in the application of contemporary auditing and related practices and methodologies including: Australian Auditing standards, Internal Audit Standards, risk management processes and information technology assisted audits. Demonstrated audit and management experience including delivery of quality assurance processes with the ability to develop and implement internal audit initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change and improve performance, and manage quality controls of projects within timeframe and budget, ensuring credibility of the Internal Audit function. High level analytical skills and the proven ability to research information and interpret and apply legislative and regulative requirements relating to auditing and accounting standards with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policy and procedures and NSW Health Policy Directives and Manuals. Proven leadership of an Internal Audit Team with experience working in a high volume demanding professional environment with the capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a client focused approach. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to analyse and interpret information, prepare complex briefs, reports and submissions, and manage challenges creatively, recommending business focused solutions. Highly developed negotiation, decision making and influencing skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with senior management and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
