The Opportunity:

As a Commercial Finance Manager you will provide financial leadership and expertise to the business and contributing to financial planning, business performance, and analytical support. The role works within the performance rhythms and ensuring that we maintain good governance and business performance in the Aggregates business unit.

This role would require strong business partnering driving and influencing the delivery of our business financial objectives. You will manage the finance business partners and guides this role to deliver value for the Aggregates business and be Subject Matter Expert for the financial and accounting requirements for the Aggregates business.

The role also has management responsibility for the capital investment outcomes, providing insight and support to optimise the capital budget that drives effective capital allocation across the business units.

With curiosity and agility, you'll explore better and impactful ways of supporting the business to succeed. You will exhibit "See it, Solve it" attitude to business problems collaborating with other functions to support informed business decisions.

It is a permanent full time position based out of our Chatswood Head Office.

The Role:
  • Collaborate with the business by providing an environment which supports the efficient development of integrated financial and non-financial plans
  • Work with the business to understand and communicate factors driving performance.
  • Challenge the business through insightful analysis to highlight opportunities to improve future operational performance
  • Manage and drive the performance of the individual team members, including working closely with the CFOs / Business Partners / Head of Corporate Finance to identify and act upon opportunities for improvement, development and career progression.
  • Provide analytical business plan reviews
  • Ensure alignment between Concrete and Aggregates internal sales volume
  • Converting business initiatives into MTP target setting
  • Assist business manager by providing an understanding of gap analysis between target and forecast
  • Support to business managers to identify and quantify opportunities and risks
  • Ensure alignment between Concrete and Aggregates internal sales volumes
  • Perform overview EBITDA validation at month end for region and the Aggregates business

Relevant skills & experience:
  • Attained relevant tertiary business or accounting qualifications
  • CPA or CA with at least eight years' experience Strategic Vision / Analysis and Problem Solving
  • Business and Financial Acumen / Fosters Teamwork and Cooperation
  • Effective diplomacy and influencing skills being able to interact with colleagues at multiple levels within the organisation
  • Sound written communication skills - able to prepare plan and schedule documents, proposals and reports
  • Sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills - establishing, communicating effectively with technical specialists, site personnel and all levels of management.
  • Participate effectively in multidisciplinary team, contributes to achieving tasks and timeliness.
  • Methodical, pays attention to detail and takes responsibility for the quality and accuracy of information supplied whilst meeting deadlines
  • Sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills - establishing, communicating effectively with technical specialists, site personnel and all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability working as part of a team
  • The ability to build relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management capability
  • Extractive industry experience preferable
