Payroll Technical System Manager

Would you like the opportunity to play an integral part in maintaining and developing our Payroll System? We currently have a vacancy for a Payroll Technical System Manager at our site in Preston.

As a Payroll Technical System Manager, you ensure a fully operational and compliant Payroll System ensuring ongoing maintenance and configuration changes are successfully tested and implemented.

This role will provide you with opportunity to work with the payroll management team in identifying and implementing improvements opportunities, leading on the system design, test implementation and Go live.

Your main responsibilities as a Payroll Technical System Manager will involve:

Responsibility for managing and delivering business and legislative change impacting end users, HR and Finance teams, Group Pensions & 3rd party providers

Responsibility for the delivery of System change projects ensuring that solutions satisfy governance and audit requirements

Responsibility for leading the team, people management, coaching, developing and motivating the team

Responsibility for ensuring that the Payroll Teams are engaged in all System related activities or change

Responsibility for managing key relationships with EITS and Zellis Support team, Application Consultants and Account Manager

Managing system upgrade, maintenance and disaster recovery activities

Responsibility for Control, Governance and Compliance are met with System Functionality, Maintenance and Configuration changes

Responsibility for maintaining Processes and System Design Documents to ensure these remain up to date, relevant and fit for purpose

Ensuring that available networks, user groups, and other 3rd party contacts are used in order to identify and recommend best practice process improvements and changes

Your skills and qualifications as a Payroll Technical System Manager:

Essential

Knowledge and experience of UK Payroll

Payroll legislation knowledge, including an appreciation for future changes and the possible impact of these on a Payroll function

Experience of payroll system change and maintenance

Demonstrate knowledge of payroll system controls

Excellent people skills including the ability to mentor, coach and influence team members

PC Literacy, competent in Word, Advanced Excel & Outlook

Desirable

Experience in managing payroll system upgrades

Experience in managing a payroll systems team

You must have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas, data and results in an easy to understand format. You should have the ability to interrogate and analyse data with a high degree of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.

You must have a collaborative approach with colleagues and stakeholders across the business to build and maintain effective relationships. As well as the ability to Problem solve using own initiative to streamline processes to meet business requirements.
