Objectives of the Position

  • Lead Regional Treasury Front Office managing cash and hedging activities of companies under Regional Treasury platform coverage
  • Lead implementation of global and regional cash management projects in the region
  • Lead regional cash management governance function
  • Provide advice on payment and collection solutions to BUs, FUs and JV treasurers
  • Contribute to global cash management community by providing regional expertise
  • Lead and develop Regional Treasury Front Office team, including knowledge and quality management, rotation and succession management

Main Tasks

  • Lead Regional Treasury Front Office managing cash and hedging activities of companies under Regional Treasury platform coverage
  • Lead Front Office team to ensure smooth cash management and FX trading activities to arrange sufficient liquidity, to optimize yield enhancement and to cover FX risks by engagement of derivatives instruments
  • Overall responsibility of Front Office’s operations in cash pooling, netting and liquidity planning for serviced companies
  • Ensure Front Office operations in line with global and regional guidelines, rules and procedures, and in compliance with country regulation, ensure zero finding in auditing
  • Initiate, implement and continuously monitor measures to ensure quality, reliability and operational efficiency of Front Office operation toward best practice operation
  • Supervise and lead Front Office team to monitor market and currency market development and contribute to cash management and hedging strategies development jointly with Treasury function at Headquarter
  • Ensure sufficient exchange of Front Office with local country finance, collaborate with global and regional relevant units (e.g. Regional Treasury Middle Office, Back Office, process experts, shared service center) in cash management projects
  • Overall responsibility of cash management KPI targets for the region especially in monitoring and controlling cash management fees
  • Lead and continuous improvement of roles and responsibilities definition of Front Office, local finance and shared services center in cash management
  • Manage bank relationship for cash management topics including arranging regular cash management service review meetings with banks
  • Overall responsibility for Front Office knowledge build-up, process documentation and improvement, quality management, personnel and resource planning and team development
  • Lead implementation of global and regional cash management projects in the region
  • Lead cash management RfP in the region including selection regional or country cash management banks, provide regional expertise in global cash management RfP project
  • Overall responsibility in implementation of global/regional/country cash management projects for the region in close collaboration with other units of Regional Treasury, local finance, regional process units and shared services center
  • Initiate, evaluate and implement regional cash management projects
  • Provide advice, trainings and guidance (for BASF majority owned JVs) for cash management for BASF companies which are not covered by Front Office service coverage
  • Lead regional cash management governance function
  • Implement and continuous monitor of the compliance of global cash management guidelines especially bank account guideline and derivatives guideline and policies in the region
  • Monitor and ensure the compliance of BASF Group companies and majority owned JVs with BASF cash management guidelines and policies
  • Provide advice on payment and collection solutions to BUs, FUs and JV treasurers
  • Monitor closely the development of cash management products and services as well as IT solutions to drive cash management innovation in the region
  • Organize exchange sessions with BUs, FUs and JV treasurers to advise payment and collection solutions to drive business growth or contribute to improvement in operational efficiency or risk control
  • Provide advice and trainings for shared service center, local finance, JV treasurers for cash management related topics
  • Exchange with industry peers for best practices sharing and drive cash management excellence
  • Contribute to global cash management community by providing regional expertise
  • Participate in monthly global cash management call and contribute regional expertise in global projects
  • Participant as regional presentative in global cash management projects and workshops
  • Monitor cash management topics and innovation in the region and make project proposals to the global cash management community
  • Lead and develop Regional Treasury Front Office team, including knowledge and quality management, rotation and succession management
  • Manage Front Office team performance review, team and individual development, provide/arrange trainings, coaching, team meetings and team building activities
  • Manage team knowledge build up and development, foster an open culture and an environment of continuous learning and improvement
  • Arrange team task scope and resource planning, including proper task rotation plan among team members and sufficient succession plan

Requirements

  • Education:at least Bachelor degree in finance, banking or economics, MBA or Master degree highly welcome
  • Working Experience:at least 5 years progressive experiences in cash management or/and FX risk management, preferably in banking, chemical or related industries, at least 3 years leadership experiences required
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge:
  • Profound understanding and operation experiences in cash management and FX risk management products such as cash pooling, netting, bank deposits, loans, money market instruments, FX spot, forwards, options, swaps, very good knowledge in local treasury-related regulatory framework and environment in major Asia countries, basic knowledge in accounting
  • Work with high self-motivation, high reliability and responsibility, dedicated for outstanding performance and passionate to drive team performance and innovation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, very strong leadership skills, collaboration and communication skill, high integrity
  • Proficient PC skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP and Bloomberg
