Responsibilities:
- Identify and seek to maximize any opportunities to increase the profitability of the business through improved use of capital and cost control.
- Oversee and manage relevant area of responsibility to ensure compliance with the appropriate statutory, legal and regulatory requirements, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines.
- Resolve financial and/or management accounting and regulatory issues to ensure accurate reporting.
- Manage internal controls over authorities and banking signatories to ensure continuous integrity of processes are maintained and adhered to (if applicable).
- Produce and submit all executive management reports, statutory reports, regulatory returns and Group finance reports in line with specified timescales to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Manage a team of finance employees to ensure that the overall output and quality of the service provided by the team meets customer expectations and is within specified levels.
- Ensure all team members have up to date PMP forms and development plans and put in place a process for regular review to monitor progress against objectives.
- Support the general management and development of the Finance and Accounts department to ensure effective use of resources in line with business needs.
Requirements:
- Professional accounting qualification.
- 10+ years' experience in an accounting role.
- Significant experience in accounting at a senior level
- Proven post qualification experience within the insurance or Financial Services industry desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of the current statutory, legal and regulatory and Group requirements.
- ood understanding of IT solutions to address finance accounting, regulatory and reporting issues.
