Excellent opportunities are available for a Risk and Controls Specialist in the Anti-Financial Crime department (AFC) within a leading financial institution based in Birmingham City Centre. The business are currently working 100% remotely, with a view to move towards a split of office and home working as restrictions are eased. Working within a team responsible for risk type assessment, you will be responsible for the writing of specific AFC reports in addition to the required elements of the processes and ongoing reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on annual risk appetite statement refresh covering all aspects including framework development
  • Take responsibility for the successful execution of the monthly reporting process including analysis and commentary provision
  • Oversight and management of metric development
  • Supporting in all aspects of required execution for the region including representation at workshops as required
  • Obtain input from wider UK AFC functions and stakeholder interaction with 1st line of defence where required

The Risk and Controls Officer will possess experience in AFC/ Financial Crime Compliance from within a banking environment. You will have excellent analytical skills to include ability to work with large volumes of data and have excellent Excel skills. You will have experience of delivering substantial multi-tier projects, have excellent stakeholder management experience and experience in the execution of risk assessments and defining and monitoring of risk appetite.
