This key government department is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join the team on an initial 3-month engagement to work within a major program of work with another closely affiliated department. You will be providing support to the program in relation to project risks, significant development issues and progress against the project schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Assist to structure, facilitate and document business requirements and future state design components.
  • Undertake an options analysis to evaluate benefits in upgrading or replacement of existing systems.
  • Working with internal customers to help analyse and plan the improvement of processes, while understanding the opportunities and complexities of the existing workflow platforms and tools.
  • Leading business stakeholders from across the department for the purposes of engagement, and in conjunction with other Business SMEs and Business Analysts, progress the elicitation of requirements and further definition and refinement of business requirements.
  • Simplifying business operations through efficient, effective, and complete data and information capture.
  • Working with business units, project managers and across project teams responsible for IT delivery and services.
  • Capture and document processes and operations as they impact the proposed solution.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Proven ability to gather and document business requirements that provide a solid foundation for an options analysis of appropriate solutions using formal processes.
  • Proven ability in the elicitation of business rules and business process mapping (using BPMN)
  • Proven ability to develop a detailed options analysis for investment consideration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work across multiple initiatives and varying stakeholder groups.
  • Well-developed communication and change management skills, including the ability to analyse business process models, business requirements, and project reports and provide accurate documentation, clear advice and accurate data as required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development or enhancement of information systems in relation to systems integration, application 'look and feel', development, deployment and maintenance of applications.
