Seeking an IT Business Analyst with long, proven track-record in successful projects in various industries.
The position is based in the Greater Melbourne Area and is a permanent, full-time position.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience ranging from $75K to $100K plus super.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Computer Science or Higher/Equivalent (or otherwise, five years of full time experience as an IT Business Analyst can substitute for a formal qualification).
Two years of post-qualification experience (unless using long experience to substitute for a qualification)
Good command of the English Language

Job Description:
- Accountable for analysing and defining requirements and functionality for information systems,LMS and other solutions to meet the Institute business needs.
- The position will provide analysis services through formal projects and on a consulting basis, with the aim of enabling the business to improve its processes and develop its business.
- Position will contributes to the planning of business analysis engagements and is accountable for the quality of business analysis outcomes.
- Provide functional level 2 support to system and process owners on business processes, implemented functionality, and business system capabilities.
- Investigating business requirements and defining new functionality for projects in the academic, administrative and enterprise areas.
- Establish functional requirements for an LMS and SQL database housing historical and new ecological data.
- Engage with stakeholders including Academic /admin staff, data providers, and IT support staff.
- Conduct stakeholder meetings and collect user requirements.
- Convert the user requirements into detailed functional specifications with a view to process optimisation and improvement.
- Write use cases, data specifications and test cases.
- Provide a business process architecture and broad system design in a form suitable as the basis of detailed system design and build.
- Leading workshops with users and technical staff to define and refine the requirements and solutions.
- Developing comprehensive documentation to describe the business solution using accepted business analysis nomenclature.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology and developing trends within the sector and country environments.
- Developing test cases for multiple test scenarios including system integration testing, regression testing, user-acceptance testing and exception testing.
- Training of Staff and Users after system implementation.
