Our partner works to improve access to free legal advice in the UK, training lawyers, trainees and students in legal advice and social welfare law before placing them as volunteers at Law Centres and advice agencies.

They are looking to appoint someone with financial expertise who will join the Board of Trustees as Treasurer.

The Treasurer will advise Trustees on all financial matters and regulatory requirements and update them on the financial status of the charity at regular intervals, recommending necessary actions where applicable. They will maintain budgetary oversight with the Executive Director, and ensure the effective and efficient administration of the charity and its resources by maintaining sound financial management and ensuring expenditure is in line with the agreed budget.

Trustee meetings are held every three months, currently using video-conferencing but traditionally in central London and commencing in the late afternoon or early evening. Trustees are also expected to undertake tasks and responsibilities on an ad hoc basis that are relevant to their own area of expertise. The total estimated time commitment required for the role is approximately 2 to 5 hours per month.

Please note that this is a volunteer role and there is therefore no remuneration.
