The role

Tax Senior focussed predominantly on the compliance process, with an emphasis on private-client matters and SATR initially. The role will involve regular client contact and with HMRC, and an ability to work closely within a multi-skilled Tax Team. Input to a wide range of areas, including P11D, employment-related securities and CGT reporting will be required, as will the need to be both customer-service and deadline driven. The individual will have the opportunity to develop their advisory skills alongside compliance, and will be encouraged to gain experience across as many aspects of tax as possible.

Key accountabilities

The individual will play a vital role in delivering a prompt and pro-active SATR compliance service for the Cheltenham and Gloucester offices. This will involve ensuring targets in terms of tax return completion, turnaround times and utilisation over the full year are satisfied.

Skills & experience

ATT qualified ( with AAT as well, or another accounting qualification being a bonus).

At least 3 years' experience within a busy tax function, with exposure to private client issues and ideally business tax as well.


Ability to work under pressure to deadlines is essential, as are good communication skills to be able to deal with a range of people both within and outside the organisation.
