Role The Hedge Fund Services Investor Accounting Team supports all of our clients from a Management, Performance Fee and Allocations standpoint. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function in a dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment. This individual will be ambitious, have a fund accounting background if possible, experience working within the Financial Services industry would be an advantage, and a track record of working effectively within a team environment. Principal Responsibilities Report and analyse financial data to be disseminated to clients and their investors Close monthly books and records of the funds to generate final performance figures Process capital activity each month Ensure management and performance fees are accurate each month Interact with clients and others to obtain understanding of funds activities Prepare share capital notes and financial highlights for the Funds financial statements on a semi-annual and/or annual basis Work directly with external auditors to ensure accuracy of each funds annual financial statements Work with shared services teams to ensure timely follow up and completion of audit requests Collaborate with other team members to build scalable operations to meet the service needs of a large portfolio of clients Skills / Experience Chartered accountant, CPA or equivalent (or working towards) Knowledge of hedge funds and other alternative investment structures Knowledge of financial reporting Knowledge of financial products and related accounting Management and incentive fee calculations Financial analysis Client service experience About Northern Trust For more than a century, Northern Trust has worked hard building our legacy of outstanding service, expertise and integrity.
