SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR - INDUSTRY ROLE Who you will be working with: Abacus Professional Recruitment are working with one of our global clients to recruit for a Senior Internal Auditor for their Belfast operation. Our client has been named the leading firm in the world in their field for the last six consecutive years and recently announced global revenues for the fiscal year ending June 2016 of over $2.5 billion. The role: The purpose of this position is to lead the on-site internal audits of the Firm's international and domestic offices. Because our client is an international firm, many of these audits take place in the company's international offices. This position also facilitates a significant role in the coordination of the Firm's yearly financial statement audit with the Firm's external auditors (and is partially responsible for the preparation of a part of the firm's combined financial statements each year end). This role participates in continuous monitoring of the Firm's controls and is also responsible for participating in confidential special projects as directed by top management of the Firm. This role will also be responsible for liaising with other global, regional, and local management to suggest control / accounting recommendations. What do we look for? Essential Criteria: 3+ years of relevant audit and accounting experience, bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. Public accounting experience is highly preferred. Relevant professional designations preferred (eg. CPA, CIA, CFE, etc.). SAP experience is preferred. 10-14 weeks of primarily international travel. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS, with the ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the local offices' significant operating cycles. This will help enable effective and efficient audits of the local offices, as well as ensure the Firm's financial statements are fairly stated. Technical & Personal Skills: Thorough understanding of general ledger accounting to ensure the Firm's financial statements are properly stated. Problem solving abilities with an attention to detail. Outstanding personal and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to varying cultures and personalities. This is vital considering the nature of the company's environment combined with this position's exposure to the Firm's international presence. Ability to document work and outstanding written skills. Proven ability to produce results under significant time constraints. Requisite integrity and discretion to work with confidential / sensitive information.
