NEWLY QUALIFIED ACCOUNTANT - INDUSTRY ROLE Who you will be working with: Abacus Professional Recruitment are working with one of the leading law firms in Ireland to recruit for a Qualified Accountant to join their Belfast operation for a 14 month contract. Our client has built up a fantastic reputation and this has seen them being awarded a number of prestigious awards. This role is very much geared towards newly qualified accountants who have just completed their training contact and are looking to make the move into industry. A firm such as this would add significant weight to a CV. Salary: TBC. What you will do: Working with Senior Management the successful candidate will play an important role within the Finance team in Belfast. You will be responsible for the management of the finance function including accounts payable/receivable and client cash. This role will also include line management of the accounts team and as well as administrative duties on an adhoc basis. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail and proven technical and leadership skills. Duties & Responsibilities: Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT return. Managing of junior accounts staff. Review of bank reconciliations. Management of Client Funds and regular review of client account balances. Management of Client Deposit Accounts. Liaising with Law Society re. Inspections on Solicitor Account Regulations. Liaising with external auditors re. Accounts Preparation and SAR reporting. Preparation of monthly financial reports including cash flow statement, intercompany analysis, fees analysis, aged debt and aged WIP. Regular finance meetings with partners. Review of Aged Debt and Aged WIP. Managing Billing Queries. Preparation of audit confirmation letters. Review of Employee Expenses. Regularly liaising with banking staff in corporate departments. Preparation of year end accounts including accruals / prepayments, maintaining fixed asset schedule, WIP valuation and year end journals. Fees and P&L Budgets. Ensuring compliance with Law Society Regulations. Approving online payments via online banking. Ad hoc finance queries from Partners / Fee Earners. What do we look for? Minimum of one years' experience in a similar role preferably within Professional Services. Strong attention to detail. Qualified Accountant with relevant degree. Microsoft Office Skills essential. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Strong problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organisation.
