Principal responsibilities
- Business Analysis
- Requirement Analysis - Thin slicing of User stories into manageable chunks
- Working with both Upstream and Downstream IT BAs
- Documenting Requirement specifications on Confluence / BRDs / FRDs
- Impact Analysis for Change Requests.
- Support the product owner in the management of their work stream Backlog and the prioritization of stories and subtasks.
- Groom the stories in the backlog to ensure that they are prepared to meet the 'definition of ready'
- Contribute to the project RAAID by raising items when necessary.
- Update the Engagement Lead and Project Management with progress vs delivery milestones
- Facilitate the following Agile Forums and project meetings
- Pod Backlog refinement
- Pod Sprint Planning/show and tell/ retrospective
- Pod Scrum
- Attend the following project meetings
- Workstream Backlog refinement
- Workstream Scrum
- Workstream Retrospective
- Design Forum (by invitation)
- Work with management team and wider IT community to remove any impediments to the pod progress
- Monitor pod work to ensure that all deliverables and work items are produced to a high standard of quality
- Contribute to team building material to develop and reinforce best practice within the podS and across IT Surveillance
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of the testing strategy and testing automation.
- Ensure that all technical solutions are ratified
- Produce statistics and cadence reports from JIRA
- Delivery Management
- Work closely with PO to prioritize stuff on the ground - manage the SCRUMs
- Manage the scrums having holistic view of the product roadmap - Regulatory / non- Regulatory / transform / maintain, etc
- Create holistic plans containing Regulatory / non- Regulatory items and also the resource needs
- Managing People
- Take the lead for delivery by motivating and working through the team on ground
- Be the ears for the team during crisis
- Work with respective leads on the ground to manage this
- Will also involve year end discussions, etc
Requirements
Must have:
- Forward thinking, independent, creative, and self-sufficient; who can work with less documentation, has exposure testing complex multi-tiered integrated applications.
- Good knowledge of Capital Markets and having experience in Business Analysis in Investment Banks
- Good markets knowledge across a range of products: FX, Equities, Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income, Futures, Swaps, Energy, Metals.
- Excellent Front to Back (full) Trade Lifecycle knowledge
- Practical experience in functional analysis and design, utilizing different methodologies i.e. Use Cases, Business Process Modelling within a Waterfall or Agile Project environment
- Requirements elicitation, functional design and problem-solving skills - structured, formal approach to analysis tasks
- Basic knowledge of Select SQL queries.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on own initiative and on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience of leading Agile teams comprising of Developers, BAs, Testing resources
- Ability to convey requirements to developers in a way that's clearly understood by them
- Expertise in Agile engineering practices (eg Scrum, Kanban, LEAN)
- Should have worked on JIRA, Confluence for requirement management
- Good knowledge of XML is required for mapping / linking data across systems
- Accountability for delivery - takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable in written and verbal communications) to facilitate with users from around the world and from different cultural backgrounds), relationship management and flexible interpersonal skills
- Knowledge on Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Iterative process
- Willingness to learn and quick to adapt to changing requirements
- Identify project issues, communicate them and assist in their resolution.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing project team methodology and performance.
- Cooperative team focused attitude
Good to have:
- Have a postgraduate degree in Finance / CFA / FRM
- Some experience in trade surveillance, regulatory reporting and market abuse
- Disciplined Agile and SAFE framework experience
- Experienced in working with resources in geographically dispersed teams, appreciating and respecting local cultures
- Front Office IT experience
- An appreciation and experience of working on projects that are driven by Regulatory Mandate, and be able to articulate the challenges that such projects often encounter, and the ways in which they've been able to achieve success in such areas
- Basic knowledge of Unix, SQL (or any database), Flat file based manual testing
- A candidate who is able to manage multiple stakeholders within IT and Business
