Job Description

This is a great opportunity to work as a Business Analyst in a dynamic data and analytics team responsible for determining the global Sage Data Strategy and enabling business reporting teams to deliver new insights that support both operational and strategic decision making.

As part of the Analyst team you'll help define the vision, own the roadmap and shape the future of the global Sage Data Platform. You'll be working with teams across all functions and regions within Sage to capture and document their data requirements. You'll then work with data designers, developers and testers to ensure requirements are delivered to a high standard. Some of our key stakeholders are in Sales Operations, Marketing and Finance.
At Analyst level you will be able to work independently and own analysis/requirements deliverables. You will be supported by more senior analysts when working on larger and more complex programmes of work and you will report into the Manager of Data & BI Analysis. There will be opportunities for growth and development including working with the latest data technologies.

Like us, you will be passionate about data and the tangible value that it can drive. We are looking for Business Analysts who have worked in data delivery teams with experience working on at least some of the following types of project:

Business Analytics projects delivering executive level metrics / KPI's, 360 customer view, designing & building functional data marts / dimensional models / enterprise data warehouses, advanced analytics & data pipelines.

Projects re-engineering Sales, Marketing & Digital business processes and mapping associated data flows.

Working with data architects to define new data architectures including traditional approaches and more recent methods such as the data mesh.

Working with data scientists to implement predictive analytics and practical Machine-Learning / AI use-cases.

Key Responsibilities

Experience in Business Analysis (capturing business requirements, documentation, data requirements, solution design)

Experience in Data Analysis (source to target data mapping, data profiling, querying databases, designing data models).

You like flexibility and are able to work on different types of tasks ranging from; working with business users, requirements analysis, profiling new data sources, data quality analysis, actioning user platform / access requests etc.

A proactive self-starter, comfortable working with ambiguity and able to drive out clear requirements through business requirements workshops (both in person and virtual).

An understanding of an Enterprise IT Landscape in a Product organisation - software products, enterprise applications (such as Salesforce), API's / integrations, infrastructure and data.

A team player who enjoys working with others and co-ordinating between various groups of stakeholders.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to articulate complex concepts verbally and in writing.

Have an understanding of Agile / Scrum concepts and delivery methods including backlog grooming / refinement, estimating, planning and prioritisation.

Have had previous 'hands-on' practical experience of working with data whether that's with SQL, ETL or BI.

You understand how business transformation programmes work in a global organisation
