You will have a transformative mindset in addition to strong tax experience and a strong focus on compliance, to see past what we do today and help design what we could do tomorrow. Project delivery mindset and experience, with the ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
What you need to do
Governance Framework - Development, implementation and continuous improvement of the governance framework over policy, process, SOPs and data for Tax.
Central process architecture - design and maintain cross vertical central policy, process, SOPs and data.
Ways of working - Define and maintain ways of working between tax BAU and transformation (including broader commercial and supply chain transformation projects).
Ensure adherence across all projects in flight as they transition to BAU.
Continuous Improvement and process metrics, measure governance across target operating model
Process roadmap, align to wider integrated programmes and align process repository to SOPs, data governance and work with controls team over RACM alignment
Reporting Roadmap, work with stakeholders to design and deliver the roadmap for tax, including assurance over frameworks governing policy, process, SOPs and data.
Internal/External/ audit - point of contact for programme and tax community, facilitate and support engagement across verticals for policy, process, SOPs and Data.
Identify risks of change to Indirect tax calculations, statistical reporting, general compliance and historical data and design/implement relevant controls
Ensure all processes and procedures that impact on tax remain under the control of the Group and not outsourced without Tax approval
Ensure all changes are consistent with the current tax risk pattern.
Identify any necessary work arounds to deal with system changes and liaise with tax re temporary and permanent solutions

Supporting Projects - Support project managers and workstream leads, helping the teams deliver high quality outputs through application of best practice programme and project management philosophy and principles.
Continuous Improvement Champion - Deployment of Continuous Improvement Strategy across GPO Community
Communications - Strong inter-personal skills to build relationships with stakeholders, and the ability to influence and advise
Accounting qualification and/or Tax qualification
Experience working in indirect taxes
Awareness and understanding of corporation tax, employment taxes and other taxes.
