Role Overview
As a result of growth within our Energy Sector, an opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join the existing Contract Finance Team based at our Immingham depot, North Lincolnshire.
The Assistant Accountant role presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the Wincanton team, reporting to the Finance Manager to develop his/her career within the Finance community at Wincanton.

How will you contribute?
- Contract Payroll - Transferring weekly data into the Time & Attendance System for submission to Payroll on a monthly basis
- Working with the Operational and H R Teams to resolve any pay related queries
- Generating and raising key purchase orders
- Assisting with the production of weekly Management Accounts for several operations
- Assisting with weekly Ledger Account reconciliations aligned to the Management Accounts
- Review of weekly Operational Trackers and liaising with the Operation to resolve any queries
- General Ledger and Control Account reconciliations
- Collation and input of weekly non-financial data for the contact
- Assisting with period Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Weekly & monthly Journal creation & postings
- Control of inter-contract and inter-company re-charges
- Ad-Hoc reports & analysis as required
- Ideally you will be studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (AAT, CIMA or ACCA)
- Looking to develop a career in Finance within the Logistics industry
- Demonstrate and possess an excellent and diverse range of PC skills
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work accurately under pressure, plus flexible to the needs of the business during key reporting periods
- Ability to work under your own initiative as well as part of a team
- Accountancy training. Ideally part-qualified (i.e. AAT, CIMA)
