The Role

We are looking for a product specialist  to join the Edge team as part of our national Compliance Services practice. You will be working with UK and multinational groups to help clients implement and maintain Indirect Tax Edge, PwC’s market leading Indirect Tax Compliance software solution. The role combines technology consulting with Indirect Tax compliance services, shaping the future of the product and supporting clients through their use of the product to bring them a well rounded business integrated solution.

In this role you will be a key member of a small team that helps to advise and implement processes relating to Edge. This would include helping clients to implement and maintain their Edge product, working with PwC networks to demo, promote and raise awareness of Edge to our colleagues and our clients, identifying product improvements and strategising with the wider Edge team feeding into a roadmap of product improvements and supporting projects to implement that technology. You will also be involved in the business development and pre-sales activity to expand our technology business. 

Responsibilities

As a product specialist your primary role will involve knowing the Edge product inside out and advising others on the solution to assist them in their roles. The responsibilities will include the following;

  • Provide support to clients during Edge implementation projects, as well as ongoing support.

  • Triage and prioritise client / internal requests to ensure timely responses and effective management of issues

  • Ensure the product appropriate responds to change in tax authority requirements

  • Test new features / enhancements prior to moving them to production for use by clients

  • Maintain direct channels of communication to between clients, support teams, product developers, content team, outsourcing teams etc. to get the job done without managerial interjection

  • Pre-sales activity to raise awareness of Edge including demonstrations of the product and answer questions of clients and the PwC practice

  • Identify product issues / improvements and working with product developers to implement these

  • Work with the wider team and stakeholders to upskill team members on Edge.

Essential skills and experience

  • VAT technical and analytical skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Alteryx
  • Resilient and able to work to deadlines with strong problem solving skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations
  • Technology-minded with a willingness to innovate, learn and take on new challenges
  • Strong project management and communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • A commitment to delivering great client service
  • Able to apply good judgement, consult appropriately and manage risks
  • Ability to work flexibly and through virtual networks
