The Finance Manager, will be an authentic business leader who provides direction and leadership in the area of accounting and finance for the corporate entities of the company. This person will oversee the full accounting cycle and financial reporting for the region, will help maintain exceptional internal controls and deliver accurate and timely financial results.

Client Details

Our client, based in Somerset is leading provider of resource software technology and services used to plan, manage and optimise operations. Their solutions span the entire value chain across exploration, statistics, resource modelling, planning and operations management. They are looking for a strong Finance Manager to help support the business and implement efficient controls and processes across the region.

Description

Reporting to the VP Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure development and maintenance of effective internal controls and processes around financial reporting for the region and Corporate entities
  • Supervision of accounting team consisting of three direct reports - one local, two abroad
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial period end closes (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Account reconciliation preparation and review
  • Prepare and review head office disclosure requests
  • Analytical review and variance analysis
  • Income tax, VAT and statutory filing preparation assistance and compliance
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding financial functions
  • Assist the General Manager with quarterly forecasting and other requests as needed
  • Ad hoc projects as required
  • Manage and develop an effective accounting team for the region
  • Foster a collaborative and positive accounting team including three direct reports while soliciting feedback from internal stakeholders
  • Challenge the status quo by reviewing and strengthening systems, processes and internal controls
  • Oversee cash flow planning as well as banking relationships
  • Prepare cash flow reporting for both management and financial reporting purposes
  • Proactively manage and review receivables, payables and cash positions to help provide insights into the organization's operations and business plans

Profile

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accounting professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Be a strong technical accountant with good business acumen
  • Have a number of years of experience managing an accounting department or function
  • Have excellent analytical, written and verbal skills
  • Be a proven leader with a strong track record able to work in a collaborative manner with the senior management team
  • Experience working with Microsoft Great Plains
