The FP&A Planning Product Analyst will be a key driver of Citi's shift to a more dynamic and integrated planning process. We aim to improve the quality and efficiency of strategic and operational planning with a focus on reducing cycle time and effort. Our goal is to provide management with more accurate and timely information that enables better decision making.

To effect change, the product analyst, is the glue that will enable transformation for each prioritized business areas in the transformation journey. They will partner with core functional leads and also as well as the product FP&A and Model Development function to dissect, standardize and translate financial model design into standardized pieces of technology and solution.

The candidate will have responsibility for understanding EUC based solutions and working with functional leads to develop a plan to bring calculations and models online and help develop automated solutions in a connected way that aligns the needs of Finance and business stakeholders.

The Product Analyst will further work closely with subject matter experts to drive adoption of next generation capabilities. This will include determining business requirements collection, data analysis on inputs and outputs of the model and help co-ordinate project management to ensure deliverables are met.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of financial planning processes along with strong analytical skills and project management experience. Confident, persuasive, and persistent, the candidate will work with stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed and critical objectives are met. This combination of skills and experience along with a curiosity to learn are necessary to develop effective solutions and transform how FP&A advises our business partners.

Key elements of the role
  • Partner with FP&A Product functions and GPO Transformation Functional Leads to help design and build planning and analysis capabilities across global FP&A in support of business stakeholders and senior management
  • Leverage data analysis skills to understand the root cause of problems and provide pragmatic solutions
  • Assist in developing a schedule for each business/product area to help meet completion deadlines.
  • Prepare business proposals to present findings and solutions
  • Partner with key lead to assist in the adoption of new processes and capabilities by working through business, technology, and finance partners
  • Build professional relationships with stakeholders and become a trusted advisor to Finance counterparts
  • Ensure a look across on the impact of process change on strategic and operational planning along with regulatory requirements
  • Provide client focused support to business FP&A teams as they adopt new capabilities
  • Partner with Technology and Data Services teams to ensure strategic approach to data and technology platforms
  • Use an end-to-end approach by understanding planning processes and analytics business use cases

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related quantitative discipline, CA/MBA
  • 5-6 Years work experience in Financial services or consulting experience ideal, some understanding of banking products preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, data visualization and analytics
  • An understanding of both traditional project management principles as well as the software development lifecycle preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across a wide range of global stakeholders with various levels of seniority
  • Strong communication skills, ability to convey clear and simple messages with a focus on what matters to drive impact
  • Self-starter, must be able to work autonomously to effective plan and manage multiple projects and milestones
  • Innovative, lateral thinker - solutions focused in solving problems and overcoming roadblocks
  • Agile and flexible, resetting priorities as appropriate
Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience in projects preferred
