Job Requirements:

• Prints and assembles tax returns and saves the returns to our electronic filing system
• E–files returns by uploading, releasing and monitoring progress of returns through Tax Software
• Prepares PDFs, prints and assembles audit reports as directed by Audit Directors which includes proofreading, footing, etc.
• Assists in resolving E–file errors by contacting Preparer/Signer and ultimately Tax Software vendor
• Assists in generating annual Individual Tax Organizers and mails them to clients
• Confers with clients by telephone in attempt to determine status of tax returns
• Pulls scanned work papers into SurePrep and sends to prepare after verification is received
• Uploads final work papers from SurePrep into GFR, and then deletes work papers from SurePrep
• Assists in organizing and coordinating arrival of client documents with Tax Scheduler so that projects can be assigned to Preparers
• Transmits documents, such as PDF copies of return, estimated payments, etc. as requested by Tax Signer to clients using Sharefile, secured document software
• Helps with preparing arrangement letters and updating spreadsheet when directed
• Assists in preparing correspondence, books travel arrangements, generates check requests, prepares mail, books conference rooms and coordinates meetings for Tax Department
• Assists in preparing, creating PDFs, printing, and assembling of audit reports as directed by Audit Directors which includes proofreading, footing, etc.
• Prepares and returns original tax documents to client
• Maintains tax supplies and orders as needed
• Transmits documents as directed through Sharefile, a secured website
• Backup for answering phones, directing calls appropriately and taking messages
• Completes other administrative duties as assigned to assist with office duties

Credentials & Experience

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent from two–year college or technical school
• Minimum of 2– 4 years of experience in a similar role
• Prior experience with a CPA firm is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Tax Software Experience
• Experienced in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Adobe
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage constantly changing priorities
• Detail oriented
• Strong sense of urgency
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Easily adapts in a fast paced, changing environment

Travel and OT Requirements:

• 5–10% Travel Required
• Occasional OT Required during busy season and/or around deadlines
