Consultant, Transfer Agency

The Consultant has day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for the Wilmington Operations / Back Office Support team in the Transfer Agency. Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, monitors activities and ensures timely accurate completion of work. Possesses the management and organizational skills required to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.

The key responsibilities of the role include:.

  1. Knowledgeable of the core aspects and business functions of a Transfer Agency.
  2. Develops a very strong knowledge of the various business applications critical to investor and account servicing, including on-line tools.
  3. Recruit, train, and mentor staff.
  4. Provide leadership and guidance to staff, creates an environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork and communication.
  5. Serve as a point of escalation, maintain and monitor issues, logs and works to resolve client servicing issues in a timely manner.
  6. Performs routine phone audit to ensure phone recordings are in line with departmental standards.
  7. Edit and proofread correspondence for Investors, Back Offices, and Northern Trust partners, with focus on content, clarity, and grammar.
  8. Assists in the documentation of departmental workflows and procedures.
  9. Identifies service efficiency enhancements, process improvements and service delivery using creative and proactive measures
  10. Keeps abreast of new or existing Northern Trust and Third Party products, services, regulatory and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Basic securities industry knowledge is preferred
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are required.
  • Organizational skills are required to manage conflicting priorities and multitask functions in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Call Center experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience within a Mutual Fund Operation, Broker Dealer, Trust, or Transfer Agency with an understanding of trade order flow is a plus
  • Prior Experience with DTCC’s FundSERV and Networking platform is a plus
  • Prior Experience with FIS-TA(formerly Sungard’s Investar) platform is a plus
