Page Personnel are recruiting a Part-Time Payroll Manager (c. 22 - 30 hours per week) for a successful business that has a presence in the UK and overseas. The role can be worked wholly from home, but there will be some need to attend the office on an ad hoc basis, so you will need to live within a commutable distance of Newark.

Client Details

Our client is a fast paced, dynamic and forward thinking manufacturing business, which is part of a Group. It is a business that genuinely cares about its employees, which is highlighted through the fantastic employee benefits it provides.

The Payroll Manager position is a brand new role, as our client's payroll is currently processed by an outsourced provider, but they are planning to bring it in-house. As Payroll Manager you will take ownership of bringing the payroll in-house and will work with the HR and finance team to choose and implement a payroll system. This is an exciting role, as you will be able to put your stamp on the payroll function, work on the various projects and process the everyday payroll. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Manage the transition from the outsourced provider to in-house
  • Choosing and implementing the in-house payroll system
  • Processing the monthly payroll from beginning to end for c. 160 employees
  • Liaising with the international outsourced payroll provider (as this part of the payroll will remain outsourced)
  • Managing the monthly and annual payroll tasks for the UK and international locations
  • Being the first point of contact for pay related queries
  • process monthly overtime payments
  • Calculate absence payments
  • Making payments to third parties e.g. HMRC and pension providers
  • Liaising with third parties, such as HMRC and pension providers
  • Complete auto enrolment processes and pension compliance
  • Set up payroll related reports to support managers, HR and the finance function
  • Support the finance and HR teams with benefits, compensation and payroll related projects

To apply for this position you must:

  • Have a proven track record of working in payroll
  • Be confident in a standalone payroll position
  • Have detailed legislative payroll knowledge
  • Live within a commutable distance to Newark, so you are able to attend the office on an ad hoc basis

It would be beneficial if you have experience of managing payroll provider transitions and system implementation, but this is not essential.

Our client is offering:

  • A salary between £30,000 and £35,000, which will be pro-rata to the hours worked (but this may be negotiable for a standout candidate)
  • A 22-30 hour working week, and the hours can be worked whichever days and times preferred
  • Full support if desired for CIPP
  • A wholly home based role, if desired, but there will be ad hoc travel required to the office when necessary
