Assistant Accountant - 6 months contract with £1,000 bonus

As Assistant Accountant, you'll be covering parts of a key person's role in a small finance team, whilst they are on maternity leave. As there are only 3 other people in the team, it's important that you stay for the full 6 months, which may be extended to 9, and that's the reason the business wants to reward you with a £1,000 bonus - for completing the contract and not jumping-ship for a permanent job, and to say, "Thank you". You'll hear "Thank you" quite a lot when you work for this business, as the Directors and Senior Managers really know how to look after their close-knit team. You'll be offered a contract and directly employed by the business too, so no timesheets to worry about every Friday afternoon.
You'll help the Financial Controller by assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements and statutory returns using Sage 50. You'll also produce several reports and analysis using Excel, so you should be comfortable using Excel including VLOOKUP and Pivot table functions. You'll have used Sage in your previous roles too. You'll enjoy helping the other members of the team including resolving PO queries and covering payroll processing. You'll be an accounts professional who knows their debits from their credits and you'll most probably consider yourself "qualified by experience". You'll be prepared to muck in, ask for help if you're stuck, and easy-going enough to enjoy working as part of a team who don't take themselves too seriously.
