The opportunity

The Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team works with businesses and finance teams to address the risks of accounting, financial and management reporting and regulatory issues. FAAS teams serve as trusted advisors, both practical and innovative, to help our clients navigate through accounting and reporting challenges driven by the changing economic and regulatory environment.

As a Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) FP&A advisor, you will require deep domain and process knowledge surrounding Finance Business Partnering and FP&A to work closely with businesses in the planning, budgeting cycle and also FP&A to provide and drive better insights that support major corporate decisions of the business leaders. You will be an advisor to Head of FP&A and Budgeting and Planning (B&P) in our client firms and be able to understand and remediate the challenges of their processes, the needs of the businesses and design reports to drive better insights. On technology, you would be required to work with the implementation consultants to implement Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools. As EPM includes consolidation, in addition to budgeting and planning, you would be working closely with the Corporate consolidation team to drive robust integration between B&P and financial consolidation processes. 

Your key responsibilities

  • Advising management and key executives on the development and improvement of finance and accounting processes and digital finance capabilities
  • Leading teams to deliver finance and accounting process improvement and finance transformation projects, incorporating digital opportunities
  • Translating client problems into business requirements that can be packaged into delivery functions for execution

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following technical competencies:

  • Developing and modelling key value drivers for enterprise performance management
  • Technology enablement of FP&A function, covering the process in budgeting, planning, forecasting, and dynamic scenario planning, and management reporting
  • Working closely with the practice leaders to develop and/or support the execution of account strategies
  • Supporting the practice leaders and senior executives in generating new business connections and development of engagement pipeline
  • Engaging in conversations directly with clients or through EY connections to understand the needs of prospective and current accounts
  • Managing the various projects and ensuring the successful delivery of service offerings to our clients
  • Proactively participate in staff recruitment, mentoring, development and career path planning for our staff
  • Ensuring effective and efficient project execution according to professional and EY standards, set budgets, and timelines

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A University Degree qualification and above is preferred
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience in finance business partnering, B&P and FP&A roles in commercial firms with supervisory experience
  • Extensive exposure to Planning, budgeting, Consolidation, Enterprise wide KPI and reporting framework, Profitability/cost analysis, working with finance teams and business units to drive better insights
  • Experience in delivery of FP&A transformation projects for Finance function, covering process re-design (e.g. strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting & planning, forecasting, business partnering, commercial support) with digital enablement and governance / control
  • Familiar with Enterprise Performance Management solutions/tools like Tagetik, Anaplan, Jedox, Hyperion Planning Management, OneStream, Host Analytics, Adaptive Insights, Oracle EPM, SAP Analytics, skilled in use of data and possess excellent excel skills and visualization tools like Tableau etc to generate back end reporting for business users.
