Kier Housing Maintenance provides services across both the public and private sector, focusing in particular on the local authority, housing association and private rented sectors. Undertaking works in 350,000 homes and carrying out 750,000 repairs each year in the UK throughout our 23 different contracts allows our multi-skilled teams to maximise the value and performance of local authorities, housing associations and private clients. Kier Housing Maintenance is looking to recruit a Commercial Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision and interpretation of financial and management information to support and inform the local management team in the day to day management of the business Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all reporting requirements required for the integrity the business are completed
Input into any bidding activity associated with the contract
Provision of front line support to business segment management including attending local contract management and customer meetings where required, ensuring early warnings of deviation to Forecast are provided to local management
Supporting new contract tenders and mobilisations, establishing all financial reporting requirements
Preparation of business segment/overhead monthly management accounts and reporting packs including full commentary and analysis
Completion of weekly cash forecasts and management of local working Capital i.e. WIP/Debt
Completion of Quarterly rolling forecasts and Annual Plans and Forecasts for business segment
Balance sheet analysis for key accounts
Management and development of support team including planning and objective setting, recruitment, and retention and performance management
Manage the interface between the business segment and relevant Shared Service or local support functions to ensure compliance with all Group, Services and Statutory obligations

Must possess a professional finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA
Previous experience ideally in a commercial or accounting role post qualification
Experience within a position of similar responsibility
Financial modelling skills (including macros) and a detailed understanding of financial forecasting is essential
Ability to manage pressure and meet strict deadlines
Feel comfortable challenging operational management at all levels
