We are looking for an administration assistant in the accounts department of a very exciting, expanding company.

City District Ltd is the company behind the Brazilian rodizio restaurants: Fazenda (Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester), Picanha (Chester) and Bossa (Leeds), with more restaurants due to open in the near future.

About the Role

The Accounts Assistant will report to and work closely with the Financial Controller and work alongside the HR department and Directors within the company’s Head Office. You will use a range of software - including Sage, a fully integrated stock management system (FnB), Microsoft Office and a company Gmail account - to help maintain accurate accounts and financial records and consistent accounting processes throughout the business.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not restricted to:

  • Maintaining and creating spreadsheets
  • Receiving and checking supplier invoices received against purchase order system
  • Uploading all purchase invoices onto Sage
  • Receiving and processing petty cash and employee expenses
  • Maintaining products and nominal codes on order system
  • Liaise with sites and suppliers to ensure invoices and credit notes are received and entered.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Process internal orders
  • Prepare payment runs and advise of ad-hoc payments
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A keen interest in working in an accounting role
  • A positive and pragmatic approach
  • At least grades C in Maths and English at GCSE level unless extensive administration experience or alternative, equivalent qualifications have been achieved and can be demonstrated
  • Excellent IT skills – a proficient MS Office user (essential) and experience of Sage would be a firm advantage
  • Self-discipline and initiative, with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills: articulating yourself well in verbal conversations, composing polite and concise emails, presenting data, reports and management information effectively
  • Sound problem-solving and enquiry handling skills
  • A team player who is happy to work independently on their own workload most of the time, whilst interacting with managers, co-workers and Directors to communicate information and assist whenever required and appropriate
