Job role

The role is of a semi senior accountant, who will support the Corporate Services team to deliver a quality service to a portfolio of clients.

Client Details

My client is a leading independent firm with nine offices across the North West and over 300 staff currently employed. They over a range of services such as accounting and business advice to a range of clients in the area and, due to continued expansion, they are looking to grow their workforce in order to capitalise on the exciting period they are experiencing.


The key responsibilities in this role will be:

* data analysis
* preparing draft accounts
* preparing draft tax computations for review
* assisting with the planning, field work and completion of statutory audits for a variety of industries
* completing audit/accounts work in a timely fashion
* working in an ethical and professional manner


The ideal candidate will:

* be part ACA/ACCA qualified or fully qualified AAT (or equivalent)
* have a minimum of 2 years' generalist accounts experience within practice
* have a good knowledge of auditing, preparing accounts under FRS and basic tax principles, including corporation tax and deferred tax
* have a good understanding of auditing principles and practical experience
* be highly numerate
* have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to tailor communication appropriately
* be a competent user of Microsoft Word and Excel
* understand the importance of Client Service
* have a solutions focused attitude
* have good organisational skills and be attentive to detail
* be enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile

Whilst not essential, candidates with experience of SAGE Line 50 or cloud accounting packages (for example QuickBooks and Xero) will be prioritised.
