Job role

Chase and Holland are proud to be working with a leading logistics business based in Doncaster, who are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Accounts Administrator. Reporting into the Financial Controller, duties for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Daily banking and cash book including daily bank reconciliations
  • Checking, balancing and posting petty cash for three sites
  • Purchase ledger including batching and coding invoices for 3 sites, managing all queries and ensuring authorisation is received
  • Ensure all suppliers are paid to agreed terms, doing weekly BACS payments and making ad hoc payments where necessary
  • Chase up VAT invoices
  • Supplier statement reconciliations and dealing with invoice/supplier queries
  • Maintain supplier records and ensure correct set up of new purchase ledger accounts
  • Purchase ledger month end close
  • Staff expense claims for 3 sites
  • Management of agency timesheets including ensuring calculations are correct, code per site and note vehicle driven where applicable
  • Preparing and posting journals
  • Maintain hire vehicle register and ensure all fleet vehicles and company cars are taxed when due
  • General ad hoc assistance in the finance team

The ideal candidate:

  • Excellent telephone manner with extensive experience building relationships with suppliers and colleagues
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to multitask, with great accuracy and attention to detail, alongside good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to use existing systems and follow procedures efficiently, and make suggestions for improvements
  • Hold a full UK driving license and be car owner
